An introductory Sashiko and Boro stitching technique workshop to make decorative patches that can be used for embellishment or to make garments, purses and tote bags.
Boro is the practice of using would-be-discarded scraps of fabric to reinforce a garment. The scraps are stitched over with a simple running stitch (Sashiko). Originally invented for warmth and thrifty recycling, and strengthening work clothes, it has evolved to become a decorative art form.
